Allocated funds should reach every farmer - Alikhan Smailov on measures to support agriculture
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov arrived on a working trip to the Akmola region, during which he visited a number of industrial, social and infrastructure facilities, got acquainted with the development of the agro-industrial complex, healthcare and attracting investments.
The first object of the work program of the Head of Government was a visit to the peasant farm of Namys Group LLP, which switched to new grain production technologies using organic and mineral fertilizers.
After listening to the report of the head of the region Ermek Marzhikpayev on the development of the agro-industrial complex, Alikhan Smailov noted that one of the priorities of the Akmola region today is the quality of the sowing campaign in the optimal time. At present, cheaper diesel fuel is supplied to all regions of the country. Provision with seed material and mineral fertilizers is 100%.
For spring sowing, agricultural producers are provided with preferential loans, the volume of which has been increased from 70 to 140 billion tenge. The forward purchase program of NC Food Corporation JSC has also been doubled and brought to 80 billion tenge. In addition, 20 billion tenge was allocated for forward purchases to form a grain forage fund.
“The primary task today is to bring the allocated funds to each farmer and, as a matter of priority, solve emerging problems in conducting spring field work,” Alikhan Smailov emphasized.
Here, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the leaders of a number of regional agricultural formations, including Agrofirma TNK LLP, Agrofirma Rodina LLP, Priishimye LLP, Zarechnoye LLP, Enbek LLP, Sandyktau LLP and many others
The Prime Minister answered the questions raised by the farmers and instructed the authorized state bodies to work out options for their solution.
In the region, the Head of Government also visited Kazakhstan Agro Innovation Corporation LLP. The enterprise assembles popular agricultural and municipal equipment together with Russian and Belarusian manufacturers.
Alikhan Smailov noted that today Kazakh companies have successfully mastered the mass production of agricultural machinery. Thus, the share of domestic tractors and combines in the market is 90%. At the same time, local content in the agricultural machinery industry as a whole is about 40%. In this regard, he stressed the need to further increase the share of local content in agricultural machinery products.
Another point of the working trip of the Head of Government was a visit to the largest service center in the CIS for servicing a full line of John Deere agricultural machinery, Eurasia Group Kazakhstan LLP.
Alikhan Smailov recalled that the use of high-tech agricultural machinery is an important element in increasing labor productivity.
To do this, the Government creates conditions for the renewal of the machine and tractor fleet in the form of investment subsidies, subsidizing the interest rate on loans and leasing. Also, a program of concessional lending (6-7% per annum) is being implemented through the financial institutions of Baiterek NMH JSC.
“Thanks to these measures, the level of renewal of the agricultural machinery fleet shows a positive trend. Here, the localization of production is a significant issue, ” said Alikhan Smailov.
Further, the Prime Minister visited the Bizhan meat processing complex, which produces meat products, sausages, canned food and semi-finished products.
Alikhan Smailov stressed that the state pays special attention to the processing of agricultural products, implementing comprehensive measures of state support.
“We must increase the production of our products in order to reduce imports and completely cover the needs of the market. The akimat should work with farmers, set counter obligations for subsidizing, create conditions for loading meat processing enterprises,” Alikhan Smailov emphasized.
