The international investment forum "Aqjaiyq Invest 2021" was held in the West Kazakhstan region
The investment potential of the West Kazakhstan region was presented at the international event "Aqjaiyq Invest 2021". The online forum brought together over 120 representatives of foreign businesses, development institutions, as well as the Embassies of Israel, Austria, Belgium, border regions of Russia, etc.
Among the speakers, the first deputy akim of the West Kazakhstan region Mukhtar Mankeyev, Deputy Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ardak Zebeshev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KAZAKH INVEST Nurlan Shokbarbayev, General Director of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. Gabriele Giona, representatives of the AIFC, etc.
«The issue of attracting investments to the regional economy is always on the agenda. If we turn to statistics, only in 2020 580 billion tenge of investments were attracted to the region. The challenge for us today is to diversify the local economy. Today our region is one of the leaders in the development of animal husbandry in the republic. We ourselves provide our region with food products in many areas. We have a good base of factories and specialists for the development of mechanical engineering. At the same time, we have a lot to strive for», said Mukhtar Mankeyev.
During his speech, Nurlan Shokbarbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KAZAKH INVEST, noted that in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan, the Head of State repeatedly emphasized the need for a comprehensive accelerated modernization of the country's agro-industrial complex. According to him, the agricultural segment has significant potential and large resources, as one of the priority sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan.
«Today the West Kazakhstan region is one of the industrially developed in Kazakhstan. Large transnational companies such as Chevron, ENI, Shell, Lukoil and others are successfully operating in the region, as well as a large Karachaganak field. However, in my speech, I noted agriculture and tourism, since, in my opinion, this area has great potential for the development of these sectors. The presence of significant areas of rangelands in the region is a competitive advantage. In the field of food production in the region, further development of the processing industries of meat, milk and fish is promising», Nurlan Shokbarbayev noted.
At the same time, comprehensive information on the investment potential of West Kazakhstan region was presented online for the meeting participants, all instruments of state support for industrial enterprises, including exporters of their own products, were explained, and teasers were provided for a number of investment projects that can be implemented in the region.
