Investment and Trade Collaboration Discussed in São Paulo
A roundtable discussion on the topic "Brazil-Kazakhstan: Investment and Trade Opportunities" was held in São Paulo, Brazil, for representatives of Brazil's business circles. The event was attended by representatives from the Brazilian National Confederation of Commerce (CNC), the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), the Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas), the Confederation of Agricultural Producers and Livestock Breeders (CNA), the Association of Beef Exporters (ABIEC), the aerospace company "Embraer," the food company "Minerva Foods," the mining company "Vale," and several other companies.
This event, organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Brazil in collaboration with the Investment Promotion Agency "InvestSP" and the São Paulo State Administration, took place within the framework of the working visit of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kayrat Umarov, to Brazil.
ВIn his opening remarks, Kayrat Umarov acquainted the participants with Kazakhstan's current economic development, the country's socio-economic reforms aimed at boosting economic indicators and the well-being of the population. The main emphasis was placed on Kazakhstan's openness to foreign investments, the volumes of which are showing an increasing trend.
The Kazakh diplomat called on the Brazilian business community to actively expand economic and trade cooperation, creating joint ventures taking into account all the advantages of our country's investment climate.
The Vice Governor of São Paulo and the Secretary of International Affairs, Lucas Feraz, highlighted the immense potential for economic cooperation between the São Paulo region and Kazakhstan in his speech. According to him, the state of São Paulo, being Brazil's economic leader, can offer a lot in the fields of economy, investments, and technologies.
In turn, the management of the Investment Promotion Agency "InvestSP" noted the need for expanding trade ties and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Galymzhan Mataev, the Foreign Representative of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" in North and South America, delivered a detailed presentation on the investment climate in Kazakhstan, investment opportunities for Brazilian businesses, state support measures, including specific support available to interested businessmen for promoting their businesses in Kazakhstan.
Kazakh companies, TO "Kazfosfat" and JSC "Kazazot," participated in the online mode, delivering presentations and discussing with Brazilian companies the possibilities for further collaboration regarding the supply of their products to Brazil. During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the conditions for increasing supplies of Kazakh fertilizers to Brazil, given the significant demand.
The roundtable concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Brazilian Association of Economic Lawyers and JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," and negotiations were held with several major Brazilian companies.
