Expansion of investment cooperation with the USA
During the trip to the United States for participation in the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi held a round table with the largest American companies interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by the representatives of over 20 American companies, including Primus Power, Tyson Foods, Valmont, CITI Group, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Agricultural Solutions Group, Chevron, Auerbach Grayson & Co, Marco Polo Securities, Viacom CBS, Merck, Mount Sinai Health System and others. The parties discussed key areas of cooperation and implementation of new investment projects in the priority sectors.
In his welcoming speech, Mukhtar Tileuberdi noted the increasing interest of American business in Kazakhstan, success of bilateral economic cooperation, as well as importance of deepening bilateral relations in the priority sectors, including agriculture, food production, mechanical engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, oil refining, IT, transport and logistics.
During the event, the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ardak Zebeshev presented the investment potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the American companies, and also shared with the participants the new approaches of attracting investments, preferences and other state support tools that ensure favourable climate for foreign business in Kazakhstan.

“Over the years of Independence, Kazakhstan attracted over $ 360 billion of foreign direct investments. During this time, Kazakhstan has carried out a number of large-scale reforms, adopted the necessary amendments to the tax, business and customs codes, contributing to the systematic diversification of the economy and the creation of favorable conditions for successful business. In line with the global best practices, today, Kazakhstan offers comprehensive support to potential investors: in-kind grants, exemption from taxes and customs duties, etc.” - said Ardak Zebeshev during his speech.
Following the event, the Minister held a series of bilateral meetings with the management of the American companies, such as Tyson Foods, Valmont, Agricultural Solutions Group, Morgan Stanley and Citi Group on the implementation of joint investment projects in Kazakhstan.
In addition, during the visit, the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and KAZAKH INVEST held negotiations with a number of potential American investors, including EDJ Associates, MedCore Health Group, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Muhammad Hunter Jugger LLC, Larea Wealth Management, The Bunchful Awards, Black Rock, DNA Legacy Group, Primus Power, etc.
During the bilateral meetings, the Kazakh side presented the business climate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the American partners. The parties discussed key areas of cooperation and identified further steps to strengthen comprehensive economic ties.
Thus, during the negotiations with EDJ Associates, one of the largest consulting companies and partners of the US Geological Survey, specific investment proposals in the mining industry were presented. In turn, the Head of the company highly appreciated the investment potential of Kazakhstan, noting the interest in expanding activities in the country, as well as opening a representative office at the AIFC.
Also, the representatives of MedCore Health Group, specializing in healthcare, were presented with a presentation of investment opportunities in Kazakhstan. As a result of the negotiations, investors showed interest in the implementation of the project to open a training center, an innovative diagnostic laboratory and a center for the provision of medical services in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting with the Chairman of Muhammad Hunter Jugger LLC, the parties discussed issues on a number of existing and new investment projects in such industries as agriculture, construction, etc.
As a result of the negotiations, American business showed an increased interest in cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is worth noting that the visit of the Kazakh delegation was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the U.S., the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and KAZAKH INVEST.
