Expansion of Investment Cooperation with the Russian Federation
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the plenary session of the VI Eastern Economic Forum via videoconference. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa also delivered speeches. Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha virtually addressed the EEF participants with video greetings. As part of the working visit to Vladivostok city, a Kazakh delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar took part in the forum.

Highly commending the unique potential of the Far East, the Head of State said that this region is of great importance for Kazakhstan as a strategic partner, since it geographically connects Eurasia with the dynamically developing Asia-Pacific region. Furthermore, the Head of State spoke about a number of successful Kazakh-Russian projects in the areas of mining metallurgy, digitalization, development of COVID-19 vaccine, finance, space, oil and gas, renewable energy sources, automotive industry, as well as about holding an annual Forum of Interregional Cooperation.
In addition, as part of his virtual participation at the plenary session of the EEF, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev together with Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Government of Kazakhstan and the SBER group of companies in the implementation of a number of projects on digital transformation, transition to a platform model of digitalization and the Data-Driven Government concept. On the Kazakh side, the document was signed by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, on the Russian side - CEO, Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank Herman Gref.

The document provides for key approaches to the development of cooperation on the implementation of the GovTech digital platform in Kazakhstan, reengineering and digital transformation of public administration using data analysis and artificial intelligence practices.
At the same time, as part of a working trip to Vladivostok city, the Kazakh delegation held substantive negotiations with the Managing Partner of TECHNONICOL Sergey Kolesnikov. The parties discussed a number of topical issues regarding the construction of a plant for the production of thermal insulation in the Almaty region.
According to investors, the launch of the project will create about 240 new jobs. It is noted that all the plant's products have export potential and will be exported to China, as well as some Central Asian countries.
At the same time, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Almas Aidarov and Chairman of the Management Board of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC Meirzhan Yussupov held a meeting with the heads of Russia's largest gas processing and petrochemical company SIBUR Holding. During the negotiations, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the construction of an integrated gas chemical complex.
“Kazakhstan and Russia have all the prerequisites for the active development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of gas chemistry. This project has significant prospects for further expansion and increasing the export potential of world-class polymer complexes. In addition to the comprehensive support of the Government, the geographical location of our country also contributes to this. We hope that today's meeting will mark the beginning of a successful launch of the enterprise and further expansion of partnership with Kazakhstan,” Meirzhan Yussupov, Chairman of the Management Board of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC said during the meeting.
At the same time, during the working visit, the delegates held talks with the heads of the Khabarovsk Territory, the Republic of Buryatia, the Primorsky Territory, the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, the Sakha Republic, etc.
