Negotiations with the Caspian Policy Center
As a part of visit of Caspian Political Center’s delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting was held with the Chairman of KAZAKH INVEST Baurzhan Sartbayev.
During the meeting, KAZAKH INVEST’s CEO noted that the interest in the Central Asia region is fully justified, since it is rich in natural and human resources. In the near future, the Central Asia will have a great impact on global processes.
“Our company is a single negotiator on behalf of the Government in terms of implementation of Investment Projects, providing support to foreign investors at all stages - from the idea to Project’s implementation and also supports the Investor in the post-investment period on a “One-Stop” basis. Our experts are ready to provide advice and timely support to all investors who apply” - said Baurzhan Sartbayev.
In turn, the CPC Executive Director, Efqan Nifti, said that the company’s partnership with the Republic of Kazakhstan and the region takes on specific intents. We are talking about the Caspian-American Business Initiative, the main purpose of which will be to promote and support the development of business, trade and investment in the countries of the Caspian region with the aim of creating business initiatives jointly with the United States of America.
“It is critically important that within the framework of the Business Initiative there will be an incubator to support projects through which it is planned to carry out the ValvTechnologies Pilot Project for the production of valve-actuating equipment in Kazakhstan for an estimated amount from 5 to 20 million US dollars. The current results were made due to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in October 2018, between the CPC and KAZAKH INVEST” - said Efqan Nifti.
Today, the CPC plays an important role in studying the issues of economy, politics, energy and security of the Caspian region countries.
In the course of the meeting, Advisor to the KAZAKH INVEST Chairman on Strategic Investment Projects, Zhandos Temirgali emphasized: “Traditionally, friendly relations between Kazakhstan and the United States have the character of a strategic partnership. We closely cooperate on a wide range, from security issues, economic development to cultural and humanitarian issues. Significant successes have been achieved in development of investment cooperation. Since 1992, the United States has invested about $ 50 billion in Kazakhstan, becoming the second country in terms of investment in our economy”.
At the end of the negotiations, the Chairman of KAZAKH INVEST B.Sartbayev noted: “In view of CPC’s experience in various fields of activity, the business initiative has a chance of success as a unifying element in cooperation and development of business relations between the USA and Kazakhstan. Our project pipeline contains projects with American companies in the agricultural sector, machine building, chemistry and pharmaceuticals. In addition, we are ready to offer the American side specific projects in different sectors, as well as provide support in their implementation”.
It is noted that the working visit of the CPC, including meetings with governmental agencies of Kazakhstan and the AIFC, was prepared with input from KAZAKH INVEST.
Between 2005 and 2018, the gross inflow of direct investment from the United States to Kazakhstan amounted to $ 40 billion. At the end of 2018, American investment in Kazakhstan set a new absolute record, reaching $ 5.3 billion.
American companies continue to show interest in the Kazakhstan market. In recent years, companies such as Primus Power, Spancrete, Uber, Starbucks, McDonalds and Netflix have entered Kazakhstan.
Today, in Kazakhstan there are over 500 companies with the participation of American capital.
