Pakistani-Kazakh Relations are Reaching a New Level
Representatives of KAZAKH INVEST held a meeting with the Pakistani delegation headed by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Sajjad Ahmed Seehar. The delegation arrived in Kazakhstan as part of a working visit organized with the support of the national company and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Pakistan. The meeting discussed the implementation of a number of projects in the agro-industrial and mining and metallurgical complexes, the chemical industry, as well as renewable energy.

The Pakistani delegation included Federal Minister for Board of Investment Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Industries & Production Division Syed Murtaza Mahmud, Minister of State for Petroleum Musadiq Masood Malik, Secretary Commerce Muhammad Sualeh Ahmad Faruqui, Secretary Communications Muhammad Khurram Agha and other officials.
At the meeting Nurzhan Abilkhaiyr, Director of the Investment Promotion Department of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC spoke about the activities of the company, preferences provided by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also stressed that Kazakhstan-Pakistan investment relations have great potential for development.
Pakistan is an important partner of the Republic of Kazakhstan in South Asia. There are a number of intergovernmental agreements between the countries aimed at deepening trade and economic cooperation, encouraging and mutual protection of investments. Since 2011, entrepreneurs from Pakistan have invested more than $16.7 million in Kazakhstan. The trade turnover between the countries in 2021 amounted to more than $95.1 million.

“Against the background of the geopolitical situation, we are now seeing an increased interest from foreign investors in the implementation of projects in Kazakhstan. For our part, we guarantee full support for the entire period of project implementation, which includes not only pre-investment support, but also post-investment monitoring. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is constantly working proactively to improve the investment climate in Kazakhstan. One of the important and effective instruments of state support for investors are the Investment Contract and Investment Agreement,” Nurzhan Abilkhaiyr said.
In turn, Chaudhry Salik Hussein said that Pakistani companies consider Kazakhstan as a country for investment due to the prospects of the local market, good location with access to large Asian and European markets, as well as favorable investment conditions.
“We see great interest of Pakistani business in localization of production in Kazakhstan. In this regard, we believe that investment relations between the countries have great potential and we want to expand cooperation in such areas as energy, agro-industrial complex, mining and petrochemistry,” Chaudhry Salik Hussein said.
During the visit, the delegation from Pakistan plans to hold meetings with representatives of government agencies, quasi-public and private sectors.
