German Transnational Company is Ready to Consider the Possibility of Producing "Green" Hydrogen in Kazakhstan

Foreign investors consider Kazakhstan as an attractive place for the implementation of a project in the field of "green" hydrogen production. This was stated by representatives of the German multinational company Linde during the meeting with the Chairman of the Board of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC Meirzhan Yussupov.

During the meeting, Linde's President for the Middle East and Eastern Europe, Oliver Pfann, expressed interest in considering the possibility of investing in this industry. At the same time, he noted an important aspect of the implementation of this investment project in Kazakhstan, which is the strategically advantageous geographical location of the country for the production of "green" hydrogen.

"Hydrogen energy is very productive, technological and efficient to use. This energy resource can be used in transport, household, energy and railway industry. All this contributes to the promotion of low-carbon development. As the world is slowly but surely switching to renewable energy sources, there will be a high demand for green energy in the near future, and Kazakhstan can become a country that will transport hydrogen both to China and to Europe", - added Linde President for the Middle East and Eastern Europe Oliver Pfann.

In turn, the Chairman of the Management Board of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC Meirzhan Yussupov stressed that the production of hydrogen is a promising and important direction in the light of the transition of the European Union countries to a hydrogen economy. According to the head of the national company, by virtue of the development of hydrogen energy, Kazakhstan can get its niche in the world supply of hydrogen. Meirzhan Yussupov also provided the German side with information about the investment climate, financial instruments, key advantages of project implementation and measures of state support for investments in Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further close cooperation in the implementation of investment projects.

It is worth noting that German investors have already implemented two projects in Kazakhstan for the production of technical gases in the Karaganda region in the amount of about 150 million euros.
