Large Wind Power Plant Put into Operation in Almaty Region with the Assistance of KAZAKH INVEST

The project was implemented by the Kazakh company Zheruyyk-Energo LLP, whose specialists have more than 10 years of successful experience in implementing and launching similar projects in the field of renewable energy sources (RES).

A new wind power plant (WPP) with a capacity of 50 MW per year launched in the Shelek corridor, Almaty region. Assumingly the new wind farm will help reduce the shortage of electricity. As part of the project, 25 towers were installed using advanced technology and equipment manufactured by the Danish company VESTAS. The company is one of the world leaders in the wind farm market with over 75 years of experience.

Total cost of the wind farm to date has amounted to 12.67 billion tenge. The project began in 2019, but construction was suspended due to the pandemic. Work was continued in 2021 - the company actively resumed the construction of structures and other works according to the approved production schedule.

The project is included in the list of energy producing organizations of the Ministry of Energy.

The project was launched with the assistance of KAZAKH INVEST, Zheruyyk-Energo signed an investment contract for receiving preferences.

The implementation of this project will help to reduce the size of the electricity shortage in the Almaty region by putting into operation significant additional power generating capacities.
