Kazakhstan Presented the Potential of Grain Deep Processing at KAZAKH GRAIN & LOGISTIC FORUM 2024
At the KAZAKH GRAIN & LOGISTIC FORUM 2024, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" Madiyar Sultanbek delivered a presentation on the prospects for the development of deep processing of grain in Kazakhstan. He highlighted the country's key advantages and its investment opportunities.
The event, organized by APK-Inform Asia and RDL Group, was attended by the Chairman of the KazGrain National Association of Legal Entities, Zeinolla Abdumanapov, Development Director for Hupac Intermodal S.A. in the CIS countries, Alberto Grisone, the Head of ZHEJIANG GRAIN GROUP Co. Fang Gang, and other prominent industry representatives. During the conference, participants discussed the initial results of the grain season, product markets, key challenges in the agricultural sector, as well as growth points and investment opportunities.
In his speech, Madiyar Sultanbek noted that Kazakhstan is among the world's largest wheat producers but processes less than 3% of its grain. He also emphasized the low raw material costs, advantageous geographic location, and state support as significant benefits.
"Developing deep processing opens opportunities for producing over 200 high-value-added products such as bioethanol, gluten, and biopolymers. Processed products can be up to 20 times more expensive than raw materials, with an export potential estimated at $6.1 billion, making the sector highly attractive for investors. According to some estimates, the total potential of the industry exceeds $10 billion," said the Deputy Chairman of the Board.
The event provided a unique platform for experience exchange and discussions on the future development of the sector.
