Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom Strengthen Cooperation in Infrastructure
The British Embassy in Kazakhstan hosted a roundtable discussion on the topic "UK-Kazakhstan Partnership in Infrastructure Initiatives." The event served as a key platform for discussing major infrastructure projects, financing mechanisms, and innovative solutions.
The discussions brought together government officials, international financial institutions, and business representatives from both countries, covering a broad range of topics, including Kazakhstan’s National Infrastructure Plan until 2029, the UK's experience in infrastructure project implementation, and financing opportunities through export credit agencies (ECAs).
Assel Suankulova, Deputy Director of the Investment Attraction and Marketing Department at JSC "NC KAZAKH INVEST," moderated the discussion and highlighted the significant potential for expanding UK-Kazakhstan relations in infrastructure development.
"Kazakhstan is implementing a large-scale National Infrastructure Plan covering strategic areas such as energy, transportation, water supply, and digitalization. We are attracting investments into our country, and our priority is to ensure the successful implementation of these projects by leveraging leading international expertise, including that of the UK".
During the roundtable, participants also explored potential joint initiatives, which could lay the foundation for further collaboration between the two countries in infrastructure development.
The roundtable marked another important step in strengthening bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom, aimed at sustainable and long-term development in the infrastructure sector.
