Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Strengthen Trade and Investment Cooperation

In Tashkent, a Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu arrived to discuss the possibilities of bilateral relationship development. The delegation included representatives from governmental bodies and private companies.

During the visit, Ardak Zebeshev, the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Meirzhan Yussupov, the Chairman of the Board of "National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC, held a series of meetings with potential investors to discuss the implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan.

Additionally, negotiations were conducted with Murat Mirzaev, the Director of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed deepening the Kazakh-Uzbekistani investment cooperation, exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of investment attraction.

In his speech, Ardak Zebeshev, the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasized that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are actively developing comprehensive strategic partnerships, strengthening good neighborly relations.

"In the latest UN report on trade and development, information about global investments for the year 2022 was presented. According to this report, the flow of net foreign direct investments into Central Asian countries increased by 39%, reaching $10 billion. These figures clearly indicate significant foreign investor interest in investing in our region. Joint efforts, exchange of experience and knowledge will allow for more effective stimulation of investments in the region and improve the quality of life for the citizens of our countries", noted Meirzhan Yussupov, the Chairman of the Board of "National Company "KAZAKH INVEST".

As part of the visit, the delegation toured a technology park consisting of a complex of facilities, buildings, and structures (with a total area of 103.3 hectares) designed for the production of a wide range of industrial, technical, electronic, construction, and household products for both domestic and external markets. The technology park currently hosts 20 projects and 13 manufacturing facilities.
