Kazakhstan and Ukraine launched a Business Council
The first meeting of the Kazakh-Ukrainian Business Council was held online. Within the framework of the event, issues of expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
The event was attended by Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Kazakhstan Petro Vrublevsky, Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ukraine Toktar Igembayev, Chairmen of the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries Ayan Erenov and Gennadiy Chyzhykov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Kachka, Managing Director of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" Zhandos Temirgali, as well as more than 100 representatives of government agencies and business circles of the two countries.

Opening the event, Ayan Erenov, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, made a welcoming speech. The speaker noted that the purpose of creating the Business Council is to strengthen mutual understanding and develop mutually beneficial cooperation between entrepreneurs of various industries in Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
“We are seeing an increase in trade between our countries in the goods of the manufacturing, food and chemical industries. I consider it important to adhere to this dynamic and further expand the range of trade. In this regard, we see potential in the supply of Kazakhstan food (pasta, meat, vegetables, fish), building materials, as well as manufacturing products (metal, parts for cars, polymers), ” Ayan Erenov said.
At the same time, within the framework of the event, the Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ukraine Toktar Igembayev also made a presentation.
“Our economies can complement each other, there are many areas where we can share experiences. Business today is looking for cooperation opportunities. On the territory of Kazakhstan today there are about a thousand Kazakh-Ukrainian joint ventures. We also see opportunities for further development of investment cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering, animal husbandry, and the food industry. For our part, we are ready to assist in terms of product entry to large markets ”, - said Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ukraine Toktar Igembayev.
In his speech, Managing Director of JSC "NC"KAZAKH INVEST" Zhandos Temirgali expressed confidence that today's historic event will give an impetus to the further development of economic cooperation between the two countries, and also spoke about the existing investment proposals for foreign business.
“KAZAKH INVEST is constantly analyzing investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, identifying potential niches and projects that are attractive to investors. Today we are ready to offer potential investors specific projects in various industries, as well as provide support in their implementation. In particular, on the part of KAZAKH INVEST, more than 100 investment proposals for the implementation of projects in such sectors as the agro-industrial complex, mining, and metallurgical complex, oil and gas chemistry, mechanical engineering, and others have been prepared. We will be happy to share specific investment proposals with Ukrainian business, ” said Zhandos Temirgali.

It should be noted that at the end of last year, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Ukraine amounted to about $ 767 million. Exports from Kazakhstan amounted to $ 426 million, imports $ 341 million. Natural gas, coal, mineral fertilizers, zinc, ferroalloys, rolled products were mainly exported from Kazakhstan to Ukraine. flat, roller bearings. Ukraine mainly supplied mechanical engineering products, equipment, medicines, and foodstuffs.
