Kazakhstan and Germany Strengthen Collaboration in Railway Technology Sector

In Astana, a conference titled "Potential Opportunities for Kazakh-German Cooperation in Railway Technology and Rail Transport - Status Quo and Perspectives" took place. It was attended by leading German manufacturers of railway technology, equipment, and components. The event, organized by NETSCI with the support of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection of Germany, was attended by representatives of "KTZ" JSC, "Atameken", and 15 German companies operating in the railway sector.

During the conference, speakers discussed the goals of sustainable planning for railway freight and passenger transport, practical issues of railway freight and passenger transport in the country, as well as opportunities for expanding cooperation between the parties. In the course of the discussions, several German companies such as HÜBNER GmbH & Co. KG, Getzner Materials GmbH, Gabo Systemtechnik GmbH, A. Rawie GmbH & Co. KG, Schwitzbau GmbH, and others, offered their services for the development of the railway industry in Kazakhstan.

Speaking at the conference, Head of Cooperation with European Countries, Alibek Zhibitayev, talked about the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, government measures to support investors, emphasizing the great potential for investment cooperation between the two countries and calling on the German business community to implement investment projects in Kazakhstan.

"Germany is one of Kazakhstan's key partners in Europe. Considering the mutual synergy in many sectors, there is high potential for the development of our economic cooperation. Events like these can help activate the partnership between the parties and discuss specific joint projects in key sectors of the economy, such as transport and logistics. In this context, KAZAKH INVEST is ready to provide support for comfortable and effective localization of production in Kazakhstan," noted A. Zhibitayev.

At the end of the event, bilateral B2B meetings were held to discuss specific opportunities for implementing joint investment projects in Kazakhstan.
