Kazakhstan and Brazil Expand Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector
On September 15 2022, by the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Brazil and "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC, the first online agricultural forum in the history of Kazakh-Brazilian bilateral relations was held on the topic: "Kazakhstan-Brazil: Opportunities for Trade, Industrial and Agricultural Cooperation".

More than 100 representatives of state institutions, scientific and business communities of both countries took part in the forum.
At the opening of the event, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Brazil, Bolat Nussupov, briefed the audience on the current state and prospects for further development of cooperation between the countries in trade and the agro-industrial sector. In addition, the Ambassador invited Brazilian companies to take part in the work of the Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Council, which established in 2021, co-chaired by the Kazakhstan Industry and Export Center QazIndustry and the National Industrial Confederation of Brazil.

In turn, Ambassador of Brazil in Kazakhstan Rubem Barbosa, noted about importance of expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector, stressed that this event will be a good platform for Brazilian companies to establish direct contacts with Kazakh agricultural enterprises, and also will expand the full range of bilateral cooperation and increase its effectiveness .
Berik Manasov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Attraction of Investments of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his report familiarized the audience with the current state and prospects for the development of agriculture in Kazakhstan.
Fernando Zelner, Deputy Minister for Trade and International Relations of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, highly appreciated existing potential for cooperation in the agricultural sector. Due to Kazakhstan's strategic location and proximity to major markets, he expressed interest in strengthening further cooperation.
Aibek Saginayev, Managing Director of the QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center, spoke about trade, economic, transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan, and also presented promising Kazakh products for export to the Brazilian market.
Paula Soares, General Manager for Agriculture of Apex Brasil, highly appreciated the prospects for increasing bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, and also expressed her readiness to provide comprehensive assistance for the development of cooperation in the agro-industrial sector.
From the Kazakh side, presentations were also made by the Chairman of the Board of the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Crop Production LLP Sholpan Bastaubayeva, the representative of the meat union Maksut Baktybaev and the director of the republican chamber "Angus" Dauren Salykov.
At the end of the event, a discussion and exchange of views took place on new ways and opportunities for expanding agricultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil in order to increase trade and investment activity.
