Kazakh-Polish Business Forum in Astana: Strengthening Business Partnership

Astana, April 9, 2026 – The Kazakh-Polish business forum, organized as part of the 10th meeting of the Kazakh-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event, aimed at developing bilateral trade and economic cooperation, expanding investment collaboration, and promoting joint projects, brought together more than 120 representatives of leading Kazakh and Polish companies.

Representing the Kazakh side at the forum were Arman Isetov, Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of government agencies and relevant industry and logistics organizations.

The Polish side was represented by Michal Baranowski, Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission and Deputy Minister of Development and Technology of the Republic of Poland; Andrzej Dycha, President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency; and Bartłomiej Babuśka, President of the Industrial Development Agency of Poland; as well as representatives of government agencies and leading Polish companies.

Opening the plenary session, A. Isetov noted the progressive development of Kazakh-Polish relations, emphasizing that the partnership between the two countries has been successfully developing for over 34 years. "Last year, trade turnover between the countries exceeded $1.2 billion, while approximately 150 companies with Polish capital are successfully operating in Kazakhstan, including such well-known brands as Polpharma, Selena Group, Rogalik, Suus, and Maspex," the Kazakh diplomat emphasized.

In turn, M. Baranowski expressed confidence that the forum will provide additional impetus for establishing new business contacts and launching joint projects. According to him, the Intergovernmental Commission places particular emphasis on cooperation in logistics, transport, energy, agriculture, and agricultural processing.

The forum program included two thematic panel sessions devoted to industrial partnerships, investment interaction, and the development of transport and logistics cooperation. Ainur Amirbekova, Managing Director for Export Development at JSC QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center, moderated the sessions.

During the discussions, participants examined the prospects for industrial cooperation, government support measures for business, and investment opportunities in the two countries. They also exchanged views on strengthening the transit potential of Kazakhstan and Poland, sustainable transport solutions, and the development of international logistics.

The forum concluded with presentations by Polish companies and a series of bilateral B2B meetings between business representatives from the two countries.

Overall, the business forum was an important step toward strengthening business ties and exchanging experiences, confirming the mutual interest of Astana and Warsaw in further expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
