KAZAKH INVEST Showcases Kazakhstan at Global Chinese Business Summit in Singapore
Diana Abyakyimova, the overseas representative of NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC in Singapore, spoke at a session of the Second Global Summit of Chinese Enterprises Going Overseas, held under the theme “Born to be Global – Globalization and Localization.”
The summit brought together more than 1,200 delegates, including government officials, executives of multinational corporations, and representatives of industry associations from China and ASEAN countries. The forum focused on sustainable and localized business models in the evolving global landscape.
During the session, Diana Abyakyimova presented Kazakhstan’s investment potential and highlighted the strong role of Chinese capital in the country’s economy:
“China is one of Kazakhstan’s key strategic partners and ranks among the top ten foreign investors in our economy. Ongoing and planned joint projects cover critically important sectors and support sustainable development. Kazakhstan is committed to further strengthening economic cooperation, developing production value chains, and enhancing its role as a key transport and logistics hub within the Belt and Road Initiative,” she noted.
She also emphasized the prospects for establishing joint high-tech production facilities, particularly in the agro-industrial sector. Kazakhstan is keen on adopting advanced agricultural technologies and water-saving solutions. The country also aims to become a reliable supplier of critical metals essential for the global green energy transition, focusing on deep processing and integration into international supply chains.
On the sidelines of the summit, the KAZAKH INVEST representative held a series of bilateral meetings with Chinese companies interested in entering the Central Asian market. In particular, Zhang Huarong, founder of Huajian Group — a leading global footwear manufacturer working with brands such as Clarks, Coach, Calvin Klein, Nine West, and UGG — was invited to consider investment projects in Kazakhstan.
Negotiations were also held with John Li, President of Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd., regarding the localization of tablet press and pharmaceutical equipment production. Interest in the regional market was also expressed by Chinese furniture manufacturer Shenzhen Zuoyou Furniture and Shaanxi Chengcheng Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd., which is exploring cooperation in the light industry sector.
