KAZAKH INVEST and Acta Climate Discussed the Implementation of an Environmental Project in Kazakhstan
A meeting was held at JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” with representatives of the Bulgarian company “Acta Climate”, which specializes in environmental and climate initiatives. The negotiations were attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KAZAKH INVEST Azamat Kozhanov, and the Founder and CEO of Acta Climate, Paula Kircheva.
The parties discussed the prospects for implementing a joint project aimed at restoring the forest area in the "Semey Ormany" State Forest Natural Reserve in the Abay region. The initiative seeks to improve the region's ecosystem and promote sustainable natural resource development. During the meeting, Acta Climate presented the project concept, which includes measures for forest restoration and carbon footprint reduction.
Azamat Kozhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KAZAKH INVEST highlighted the importance of such projects for Kazakhstan's environmental strategy:
"The restoration of the forest area in “Semey Ormany” is a crucial step toward achieving carbon neutrality and sustainable development in the country. The implementation of such initiatives not only enhances the environment but also brings long-term socio-economic benefits. As part of Kazakhstan’s national greening program, 2 billion trees are planned to be planted by 2025, and this project fully aligns with the country’s strategic course. KAZAKH INVEST is committed to supporting initiatives aimed at developing the 'green economy' and attracting international partners for the implementation of environmentally significant projects," emphasized Azamat Kozhanov.
This initiative also has the potential to attract foreign direct investment, particularly in the development of carbon unit generation, while ensuring compliance with relevant legal regulations.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation, including the development of a roadmap for project implementation.
