The investment potential of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex was presented in Singapore
A major agro-industrial event, "FutureFit Asia 2026," was held in Singapore. It is an international conference and platform dedicated to the future of food systems, healthy longevity, biotechnology, and sustainable development. The event was a rebranding of the "Future Food Asia" platform and coincided with its 10th anniversary.
Diana Ablyakimova, the foreign representative of Kazakh Invest NC JSC in Singapore, presented Kazakhstan's investment opportunities during the panel session "Beyond Land: Food Security as Infrastructure in a Fragmented World," dedicated to Kazakhstan and its role in the global agri-food value chain.
Particular attention was paid to Kazakhstan's growing strategic importance amid the transformation of regional trade flows and the diversification of global supply chains. Kazakhstan's geographic location between China, Russia, Central Asia, and the Middle East creates additional opportunities for development as a regional agrifood and logistics hub.
Diana Ablyakimova, in turn, presented the Government of Kazakhstan's approaches to transitioning from a predominantly raw materials-based economic model to the development of high-value-added production and the integration of Kazakhstani-made products into global supply chains. Current government support measures for companies implementing projects in the areas of deep processing of agricultural products, agricultural technology development, food processing, and export-oriented manufacturing were also presented.
The international business community was introduced to promising investment niches in Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex, including projects in grain and oilseed processing, ingredient and food component production, logistics infrastructure development, water conservation technologies, and digital solutions for the agricultural sector.
Following the session, participants noted the high potential for further strengthening our country's role in ensuring regional and global food security and expressed interest in expanding investment and technological cooperation with Kazakhstani partners.
The conference brought together investors, startups, scientists, corporations, and government officials to discuss key challenges facing Asia – food security, climate change, population aging, environmental sustainability, and agricultural technology development. Participants and speakers included representatives of WuXi Biologics, Novonesis, the Green Climate Fund, as well as international investment and research organizations.
