The Day of the Economy of Kazakhstan Took Place in the German Region of North Rhine-Westphalia
Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, national companies such as KAZAKH INVEST, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, NUH Baiterek, and Samruk-Kazyna Invest, participated in the forum "Day of the Economy of Kazakhstan in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - opportunities for trade and cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, and resources" held in the city of Düsseldorf. The event gathered more than 100 representatives of the German business community.
During the event, the parties noted the mutually beneficial nature of attracting German expertise in high-tech, energy, transport, and communications. According to the participants of the forum, equally relevant are the issues of expanding cooperation between organizations and institutions of both countries in the field of technical education, research, and high-tech manufacturing.
In his welcome speech, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Germany Nurlan Onzhanov informed the participants about the economic potential of Kazakhstan, the regularly improving legislative framework for foreign investors, the available business incentives and preferences within the Astana International Financial Center and special economic zones, as well as the ongoing socio-economic reforms in the country aimed at further improving the welfare of the people and the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan.
Andreas Schmitz, President of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce, for his part, noted that the economy of North Rhine-Westphalia has enormous industrial potential, which is why local companies expressed their interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan, especially in the field of sustainable energy supply to Germany. Moreover, according to him, German companies have good opportunities for implementing joint projects in the field of manufacturing industries on the territory of Kazakhstan.
During his speech, Zhandos Temirgali spoke about the significant energy potential of Kazakhstan, which opens up wide opportunities for investors to implement renewable energy projects, current projects and the potential for further development of renewable energy, including green hydrogen, opening up new deposits and modernizing existing facilities. At the same time, he noted that Kazakhstan is open to investors from all over the world and strives to provide partners with not only favorable conditions for investment, but also the necessary support at every stage of their business development in the country.
Representatives of such large German companies as "Wilo Group", "Rhenus Logistics" and "Thyssen Schachtbau" shared positive experience of working in Kazakhstan.
Following the forum, representatives of KAZAKH INVEST held a number of bilateral meetings with German business leaders such as "Evonik Industries AG", "SMS Group" and others. In particular, representatives of the company "VGH Viktoria Garten Hüttenindustriebedarf GmbH", which is engaged in the production of refractory products, talked about their interest in localizing production for the needs of the metallurgical industry of Kazakhstan in the territory of the Aktau Seaport Special Economic Zone.
In conclusion of the forum, a live discussion was held, during which participants noted the great potential for expanding trade, economic and investment-innovation cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany.
