In 2021, 16 projects worth $600 million are planned to be implemented in Almaty region
This year, foreign investors plan to implement a wind power plant, a fruit processing and freezing plant, a dairy farm, and a meat processing plant in Almaty region. During his working trip to the region, chairman of the Board of “Kazakh INVEST” NC” JSC Meirzhan Yussupov got acquainted with the implementation of current projects, as well as new initiatives of investors.
During the visit, Meirzhan Yussupov visited the pharmaceutical plant “Dolce Pharm”. During the meeting, investors spoke about the plans for the implementation of a new investment project to create an innovative medical cluster. The project includes a production and logistics center with warehouses for medical gloves, syringes, sterile consumables, as well as according to the international standard of GDP (Good Distribution Practices). The launch of the project will create about 4 thousand new jobs.
In addition, Meirzhan Yussupov visited the construction site of the ice cream production plant “Shin-line” LLP. It is planned that the project worth 33.4 billion tenge will create 1000 jobs. The production capacity of the plant is 60 thousand tons of ice cream per year.
In addition, the head of the National Company got acquainted with the work of “Ecoculture” LLP, one of the largest greenhouse complexes located in Karasay District of Almaty region. The company has built two greenhouses for growing vegetables and flowers with a total area of 7 hectares. The company also plans to expand production and build another greenhouse for growing lettuce. It should be noted that “Еcoculture” LLP sells its products through a network of large hypermarkets in Almaty, and some of the products are exported.
In addition, the Chairman of the Board visited the SEZ “Khorgos - Eastern Gate” as part of a working trip to Almaty region. During the meeting of chairman of the board of KAZAKH INVEST and general director of the SEZ “Khorgos - Eastern Gate” Murat Baimukhanbetov, the prospects for the development of the SEZ, as well as the planned investment project for the construction of a cargo and passenger airport were discussed.
“The territory has created investment conditions that include logistics location, ready-made infrastructure, tax, customs preferences and preferences, as well as work in combination with the use of modern IT technologies. In addition, the SEZ has the entire necessary infrastructure for the implementation of any projects in the field of transport and logistics. KAZAKH INVEST is ready to provide full support for each investment project with the participation of Kazakhstani and foreign businessmen within its competence,” - said during the talks Meirzhan Yussupov.
It should be noted that last year a mixed feed production project of SSA FEED MILLS LLP was implemented on the territory of the SEZ “Khorgos - Eastern Gate”. The annual capacity of the enterprise, which was put into operation in 2020, will be 60,000 tons of mixed feed. The plant also produces all kinds of Fish and animal feed.
It should be noted that in 2020, 38 projects worth 4 465.2 million were implemented in Almaty region with the participation of domestic and foreign investors in renewable energy, construction materials production, agribusiness, food industry, etc.
